AMC Networks International U.K. and PBS America are among the latest channels to join free TV streamer Freely in the U.K.
The two broadcasters, along with news network GB News and shopping channel QVC, have inked a deal with Everyone TV, the org. behind Freely to offer their channels on the platform.
The deals mean that Freely now offers over 40 live channels and over 74,000 hours of on demand content via streaming, without the need for an aerial or satellite dish.
Freely, which is available on next-gen smart TVs, is backed by U.K. public service broadcasters BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
AMC Networks International U.K. will livestream its free-to-air channels via Freely, including Legend and True Crime, while PBS America will offer its factual schedule including content from filmmaker Ken Burns and its news strand “Frontline.”
QVC will provide its flagship QVC channel as well as QVC2, which has dedicated style, garden and beauty segments, while GB news will offer its live TV channel.
The channels and on demand content will be available from early 2025.
“These new collaborations mark a significant milestone as Freely continues to redefine the streaming experience, offering something for everyone, with content across a variety of genres,” said Jonathan Thompson, CEO at Everyone TV. “From groundbreaking storytelling to rich historical programming and an engaging shopping experience, we are excited to offer an increasingly competitive free viewing experience with these new channels and on demand players. We look forward to continued collaboration across the industry, bringing even more entertaining and engaging content to Freely.”
