Amazon has partnered British supermarket company Asda to offer its customers parcel pick-up and label-free, box-free returns services at more than 700 Asda Stores across the UK.
The new service, available in time for the 2024 holiday season, allows customers to combine their weekly shopping with parcel collection or returns in one trip.
It also enables eligible Amazon to be picked up at most Asda stores across the UK, with plans to expand to additional locations.
The initiative reduces the need for additional packaging, as customers can return items using the original manufacturer’s packaging.
Customers can select their preferred parcel pick-up location during checkout.
After their parcel arrives, they will receive an email notification with retrieval information.

For returns, customers can generate a QR code via the Amazon website or app and use it to drop off items at eligible Asda stores, where the return will be processed at no extra cost.
Amazon UK country manager John Boumphrey said: “This collaboration with Asda makes it even easier for customers to pick up ordered items when they’re shopping, or make hassle-free returns at more than 700 locations around the country.”
To initiate the return, the Amazon.co.uk Your Orders page can be visited or the Amazon shopping app can be used, selecting “return or replace items,” and following the prompts.
Asda Logistics vice-president Chris Hall said: “This collaboration with Amazon just in time for Christmas marks another landmark moment, not just for our larger stores, but our ever-expanding Asda Express convenience estate.
“By bringing essential services like Amazon parcel pickup and return drop-offs closer to where our customers live and work, we’re able to provide greater convenience to more of the communities we serve across the UK.”
The partnership comes as Asda’s sales dropped 5.5% in the 12 weeks to 3 November 2024.
