Heart of Midlothian full-back Alex Cochrane is on the verge of a move to Birmingham City.
The English League One side will pay a fee of around £1.3m, with add-ons to be included for the 24-year-old, who is entering the final year of his contract at Tynecastle.
“That will progress like everything else in football,” head coach Steven Naismith told HeartsTV as he explained Cochrane’s absence from Saturday’s 2-1 friendly loss to Leyton Orient.
“He’ll go and see if he can agree terms and that deal will get done.”
Cochrane joined Hearts on loan from hometown club Brighton in the summer of 2021, signing a permanent deal 12 months later.
He has played 126 games for the Edinburgh side, scoring five goals.
