Italian label Alberta Ferretti has made a change to its top hierarchy. Only two weeks after naming a new creative director, the luxury women’s ready-to-wear label owned by Italian fashion group Aeffe, also owner of Moschino, has announced it has created the position of managing director. The new appointee is Alexandra Lamprecht, an executive with a 25-year-plus experience in the luxury sector.
Lamprecht will start with immediate effect, reporting to Aeffe Group President Massimo Ferretti. In her new role, she “will be responsible, in collaboration with Creative Director Lorenzo Serafini, to guide the brand’s growth with a focus on expanding on international markets,” said Alberta Ferretti, which is currently in the midst of a reorganisation, in a press release.
In September, shortly after overseeing her last show, designer Alberta Ferretti stepped down as creative director of the eponymous label, which she founded in 1981 with her brother Massimo, while retaining her role as group vice-president. Lorenzo Serafini succeeded Ferretti as creative director. Since 2014, he has held the role of creative director of Philosophy, the brand’s young line, which had been renamed Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini. The latter will be incorporated into Alberta Ferretti starting with the Fall/Winter 2025-26. Serafini will unveil the new look of Alberta Ferretti at Milan Fashion Week’s February edition.
“With Alexandra’s arrival, we complete a highly competent, ambitious and energetic team that I am sure will write a beautiful new chapter for the brand,” said Massimo Ferretti, looking forward to welcoming the new executive. “We are convinced that the professional skills she has acquired during 20 years of experience in the sector, combined with the extremely positive and dynamic attitude that characterises her on a personal level, will be crucial in guiding the Alberta Ferretti brand into a new growth phase under the creative leadership of Lorenzo Serafini,” he added.
Lamprecht recently worked at Italian high-end knitwear brand Lorena Antoniazzi. Prior to that, she worked for almost 12 years at Salvatore Ferragamo, then at Valentino and Etro, in various senior executive roles. In the past, she also worked at Swarovski and Staff International, the OTB group’s production company, among others.
“I can’t wait to get to work with Lorenzo Serafini and the entire Alberta Ferretti brand team, to kick off a new phase of growth and development for the brand, enhancing a heritage rooted in the most authentic and genuine vision of Italian luxury,” said Lamprecht.
The Aeffe group, which in the past year has also been busy relaunching its flagship brand Moschino under creative director Adrian Appiolaza, has implemented a new strategy at Alberta Ferretti to meet “the market’s current demands,” with the goal of “ensuring [the brand’s] appeal and energy in this new phase,” said Massimo Ferretti, commenting on the recent changes in Alberta Ferretti’s creative direction.
