Italy’s Agnona has opened a store inside Harrods in London as part of the newly created room 2 on the Designer Collection first floor.
The “bright, sophisticated, and cosy space” houses the brand’s AW24 women’s collections, with a big focus on cashmere and silk pieces that “appear to float against white marble walls”, we’re told.
The space has been designed by the label’s CEO and creative director Stefano Aimone, and is a key one as it’s the first UK retail space in its new era since its acquisition by Aimone in 2021.
The company said the “artisanal designed and curated Agnona space reflects Stefano’s unique vision through the creation of simple shapes, subtle details, and meticulous craftsmanship”.
It has been developed with a team of dedicated architects and brought to life by Italian craftsmen. It includes antique Venetian flooring techniques, and hand-crafted glass casings trimmed with soft-touch wooden dovetail joints.
The walls and the floor feature monochromatic ‘Terrazzo alla Veneziana’ flecked tiles “made with the highest-quality marble pebbles, echoing the brand’s iconic black and white colours, used first by Agnona’s founder, and still chosen by Stefano today as a brand signature”.
There’s also a light-coloured wood counter, inspired by the historic, distinctive wooden crates, once used to transport premium and carefully sourced wools across continents. These original cases have been restored and preserved in the maison’s archive.
