Africa’s best holiday resort has been revealed with 24C temperatures and costing £144 a night
Tripadvisor’s number one resort in Africa has been named as the beachfront hotel of Lux Belle Mare in Mauritius, an island just east of Madagascar.
It describes itself as a “spirited, forward-thinking luxury hotel…where minimal and tropical come together magically” for guests.
Lux Belle Mare has a five-star rating on Tripadvisor and won a Traveller’s Choice Award in 2024, given to those who consistently rank highly on the site.
The hotel is frequently lauded by guests for its “spacious and well-appointed” rooms, as well as the clean beaches and facilities, which contribute to the “elegant and welcoming atmosphere” that many find “enchanting”.
It has a number of bars and restaurants to enjoy, various types of rooms to stay in, wellness spaces such as a spa and aqua therapy, and a teen club
