THE latest Guardian University Guide has reaffirmed that the University of Aberdeen is amongst the top ranked universities in the UK.
Aberdeen has held its position in the 2025 Guide, coming in at 12th place in the UK and 2nd in Scotland, sustaining its highest ever achievement in this league table. It has also been ranked 1st in the UK for Medicine for the second year running.
The University’s continued strong performance means it has been in the Top 15 of the league table for the past three years and in the Top 20 for five consecutive years.
It also continues its outstanding performance on metrics relating to student satisfaction with teaching, ranking 9th in the UK.
In addition to Medicine, Aberdeen ranks in the UK Top 10 across six subject areas:
University of Aberdeen Senior Vice-Principal, Professor Karl Leydecker, said: “Having reached our highest ever position in the Guardian University Guide 2024, we are pleased to have held this ranking for a second consecutive year.
“Unlike other national league tables, the Guardian focuses exclusively on teaching and student-facing metrics, with the overall ranking built up from the subject level rankings. This result is a strong affirmation of the focus we put on students and delivering an outstanding experience for those who choose to study with us.”
