SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara head men’s tennis coach Niall Angus announced the signing of a top world junior ranked player, Ferran Redza. A native of the United Kingdom, Redza currently holds a World Junior ITF ranking of 386 and will join the program for the 2026 winter quarter and be eligible to compete in the 2026 spring dual match season.
“From the moment we met Ferran, we knew that he was a perfect fit for what we are building within the Santa Clara Men’s Tennis program,” said Angus. “Ferran has a phenomenal foundation to his game with excellent technique. Those fundamentals, paired with his level of work ethic, make him one to watch for the future. Apart from his tennis ability, Ferran is a high character human being and will fit in perfectly with the group that we have. I am delighted that Ferran has chosen to bring his talents to Santa Clara and I am looking forward to working with him!”
Ferran won back-to-back J30 ITF World Junior Singles Titles at Bradfield and Loughborough and reached a national ranking of No. 6 in the UK for the 16 and under group.
“On my visit, I felt like I could see myself spending my college career here and competing with the team,” said Redza. “I was inspired by the team’s work ethic and the attitude they have in training and I really feel like I can reach my full potential at this university. I also felt like the facilities for the academics are very impressive and I can use them to achieve the best I can in my classes. The campus matches what I look for in a university as it is smaller than other schools, which is what I prefer.”
Welcome to Santa Clara, Ferran Redza ??
