The UK Armed Forces men’s football team have won the 2024 Kentish Cup.
Daryl White’s team knew a draw or win against the Dutch Armed Forces team would see them retain the trophy and British Army striker Greg Peel’s goal secured a 2-1 win.
After a 1-0 win over the French Armed Forces on Wednesday, UKAF were in the driving seat and took the lead through RAF winger Joe Spalding.
A nervy end to the first half saw the Dutch team grab a leveller through Milan van Boxel, but Peel’s second-half strike, set up brilliantly by the RAF’s Aaron Eyett, clinched the triumph for the UK team.
Earlier in the week, the Dutch team were beaten 5-0 by the French in the tournament opener.
It was confirmed post-match that UKAF head coach Daryl White is leaving the role following this Kentish Cup success.
