LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 14/16 University of Kentucky women’s basketball program will play host to Queens on Monday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. ET in Historic Memorial Coliseum.
The game theme is Monday Night CATS, a spinoff of Monday Night RAW. Fans are encouraged to enter to win a Kentucky Wildcats World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Legacy Title Belt at the entrance; doors open at 5 p.m. ET.

Darren Headrick will have the radio call for UK Sports Network, his eighth straight season as the voice of the Wildcats. His call will be carried on 630 AM WLAP (Lexington) and 790 AM WKRD (Louisville).

Kentucky moved to a 7-1 record and a 2-1 mark against Associated Press Top 25 teams after falling at No. 16/15 North Carolina in the Southeastern Conference/Atlantic Coast Conference Challenge last Thursday, 72-53, in Carmichael Arena. Dazia Lawrence, redshirt senior shooting guard, led the team in scoring for the second time this season, putting up 17 points, while going 3-of-6 from long range. Amelia Hassett earned the first double-double of her UK career, recording 13 points and 13 rebounds. She went 4-of-8 from long range.
Four players are averaging in double-digit scoring through eights games in 2024-25, including Clara Strack (16.5), Georgia Amoore (14.4), Lawrence (13.8) and Teonni Key (11.6). Two players are averaging double-digit rebounds, including Hassett (10.4) and Strack (10.1).
The Wildcats are currently ranked in the top 15 in the nation in five categories, including blocks per game (9.4), field-goal percentage defense (31.8), defensive rebounds per game (31.0), assists/turnover ratio (1.5) and assists per game (18.9).
Meanwhile, several players are stacking up high compared to others in the nation, too.
Amoore, graduate point guard, is leading the nation in assists per game (8.3). The next best passer is averaging 7.7. Key, junior forward, is fifth in the nation in blocks per game (3.1). Lawrence, who just went 50.0 percent from the arc at UNC, is 11th in the nation in three-point percentage on 50.0 percent through eight games in 2024-25.
Amoore, who played all 40 minutes at UNC, also is fifth in the nation in minutes per game (37.4). She has played every minute of three games this season, including UK’s long overtime game against UofL.
The Wildcats are eager to get back inside Historic Memorial Coliseum, having not played a game there since Nov. 18. They’re 5-0 inside the renovated facility this season.
When Kentucky and Queens play Monday, it’ll mark the first ever meeting between the two teams.
