The success of two collaborations between Southern California footwear brand Ugg and London-based skateboarding and clothing brand Palace means a third was a sure-fire cert.
With a “shared passion for… boundary-pushing style”, on 6 December the pair are set to launch a reimagining of the comfort footwear brand’s the Tasman mule and, for the first time, the Classic Ultra Mini. They feature intricate multi-layered embroidery that brings “cultural concepts to life in a wearable way”.
The previous collabs have centred on footwear and accessories but now the pair have ventured into apparel with the first ever Ugg Palace Jacket.
It’s made of soft suede with shearling lining and features embroidered details on the arms, exposed shearling trims/edges, and Palace’s intertwined ‘P’ logo in shearling on the back. Rounding out the collection is a Bucket Hat, and Tote Bag.
The collaboration comes to life through a series of social-first images and videos that take the consumer “inside the mind of Palace skateboarder, Lucien Clarke”. Opening with the thought that bringing together two different things can create something greater than themselves, viewers enter the world of Ugg Palace.
This idea drives Clarke to experience the new collaboration “through a surreal journey” that spotlights the crafted detail of multi-layered embroidery and exposed shearling design across footwear, accessories and RTW.
The Tasman retails for £160, the Ultra Mini £185, Jacket, £1,600, Bucket Hat, £140, and Tote Bag £205.
