Russia has expelled a British diplomat for spying, according to state media reports.
TASS state media said: “An employee of the British Embassy in Moscow has been stripped of his accreditation for providing false information when entering the Russian Federation.
“His work revealed signs of intelligence activities.”
Footage has shown the British ambassador’s car pulling up to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow.
The UK Foreign Office has not yet commented on the developments.
Russian state media reported that the diplomat was a replacement for one of six UK diplomats expelled back in August.
Russian security services allege that Wilkes Edward Prior, sent to Moscow by the Foreign Office, intentionally provided false information when entering Russia.
They added that “signs of subversive work” and intelligence were found.
