A British golfer performed Donald Trump‘s iconic dance at her latest tournament as she revealed her admiration for the US president-elect.

Charley Hull, who is ranked 11 in the world, was competing at The Annika at Pelican Golf Club in Florida when she was snapped performing the dance move that has become associated with the 78-year-old.

Hull, 28, has long-been tipped as a future star of the golfing world, playing in several amateur tournaments during her early teens and being a part of the European team that won the Solheim Cup in 2023.

She competed in the Curtis Cup – the amateur version of the Solheim Cup – when she was just 16, while she turned professional before her 17th birthday.

And while she is rated highly for her on-course skills with the club when it comes to golf, it was her dance moves and tribute to the president-elect that saw her grab the headlines on Thursday.

Speaking after the event, she revealed her admiration for Trump – and even explained her wish that he could in fact be the Prime Minister.

‘I love Trump,’ Hull said after shooting a 73 in the first round of the CME Group Tour Championship at Tiburon. ‘I think he’s brilliant.’

‘I like how he just says things, he doesn’t care what people think and he’s straight to the point.

‘I wish he was head of the UK. I just like him as a person. He’s a little better than our Prime Minister.’

Trump won a second term as president of the United States earlier this month when he defeated Kamala Harris in the election for the next term.

He has won a number of fans since the start of his campaign, with other sports stars, such as American UFC star Jon Jones and USMNT footballer Christian Pulisic also performing the dance in recent weeks.

Fellow golf star Bryson DeChambeau, meanwhile, recently had Trump on his YouTube channel and joined him on stage at his victory rally.

Rory McIlroy, meanwhile, who has in the past played golf with Trump, has suggested that his return to the White House could build a bridge between PGA Tour and LIV group due to the ‘smartest man in the world’, Elon Musk, working closely with him. 

Hull, in sunglasses and white hat, could be seen turning to someone seemingly course-side before punching her arms out in typical Trump fashion. She added that it would be ‘cool’ to have a round of golf with the ‘legend’ Trump.

Hull explained she likes that he ‘doesn’t care what people think and is straight to the point’

On the prospect of a round of golf with ‘legend’ Trump, Hull said: ‘That would be cool.’

Trump is an avid golf fans and owns a number of courses around the world, including Turnberry in Scotland, which is ranked the third best golf course in Great Britain and Ireland.

He has in the past played golf with the likes of Tiger Woods, and could soon be back on the course with some big names are he prepares for another term in office.

The businessman performed his dance at a sporting event as recently as last weekend, when he was in the crowd at UFC 309 to watch Jones defeat Stipe Miocic at Madison Square Garden.

He is not expected to be in Las Vegas for the Formula One Grand Prix this weekend.
