The festive season is always a big moment for exclusives collabs and they don’t get much more exclusive than at the upper end of the luxury sector. The latest is from Tom Ford, which has linked with both Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter for women’s and men’s evening capsules.
They launch on 18 November and are targeting “those looking to elevate their party wardrobe ahead of the festive season”.
The women’s curated edit of ready-to-wear and accessories is “synonymous with Tom Ford’s signature style” in luxe materials and the strong colour palette for which the label is known.
The capsules include items “tailored for both glamorous gatherings and intimate celebrations”.
In total there are 20 styles, including sharp 1970s-influenced tailoring, figure-skimming gowns and accessories. In a shrewd move, bestsellers from previous collections are included, but they’re reimagined in new colourways, including deep burgundy, which looks set to be a popular colour for the forthcoming party season across the price range.
For men, Mr Porter will debut a 30-piece collection, centred around opulent eveningwear in a rich colour palette of burgundy, gold and white across silk shirts, tees and polos, tuxedos, velvet bomber jackets, formal accessories and footwear.
The launch comes as YNAP’s two in-season luxury sites prepare for a new era under the control of Mytheresa with owner Richemont having recently struck a deal to sell the entire YNAP operation to its luxury peer.
