French accessories brand Topologie has taken its next step in it plan to expand globally with its first flagship store in the UK. The store is on Dray Walk in Shoreditch and “will showcase the full range of products and customisable possibilities”.
The brand is part of that trend that has seen sports/hobby/worklife clothing and accessories adapted for everyday living. It was founded in 2018 by a group of rock climbers from France and Japan and we’re told it “combines the practicality and necessity of climbing gear with the forward thinking attitude of Franco-Japanese fashion. The result, functional and beautiful wares for the everyday urbanite”.
Through the implementation of its trademarked Wares System, Topologie offers over 1,000 different product combinations, through a variety of bags, straps and accessories “thoughtfully constructed to ensure a world of limitless possibilities for the urban traveller”.
And it said its new store follows a similar design aesthetic to all other Topologie outlets, “employing a combination of pegboards and scaffold-esque metallic structures for a range of visual merchandising options. The maximalist product display is echoed by the rows of under-counter storage stuffed with products and in plain sight of customers, drilling home the countless possibilities and encouraging shoppers to find a combination of equipment that is unique to them and their style”.
The new London store can be found close to other “cultural institutions” like Rough Trade, Slam City Skates and Son of A Stag, in the heart of the Brick Lane neighbourhood.
The area sees heavy footfall from locals and tourists (both domestic and international), and the company said the label “is placed perfectly to meet the needs of long-distance travellers and urban commuters equally”.
