Major London retail landlord The Portman Estate has announced a number of new fashion brands joining its line-up on Chiltern Street, enhancing Marylebone’s strong offering there.
The collection of new openings bolsters the red-brick street’s curated selection of boutique brands.
Expanding its footprint, clothing, accessories and lifestyle brand Mouki Mou has opened a sister store called M.II at number 17. It’s an evolution of the brand’s original idea and is a multi-brand concept store retailing a selection of brands across menswear and womenswear, including Extreme Cashmere and Arts and Science.
Contemporary menswear label Oliver Spencer has also opened at number 39 with a 750 sq ft store that was refitted using repurposed materials from other Oliver Spencer showrooms. It reflects the label’s “long-term commitment to environmental responsibility” with the company saying that “from eco-friendly materials to animal welfare, Oliver Spencer is a brand that champions a conscious approach to fashion”.
And next February, Los Angeles-based luxury eyewear brand Jacques Marie Mage will open its first UK store at numbers 20-22. It’s a double-fronted flagship location directly opposite the popular Chiltern Firehouse restaurant.
The brand is known for its selection of handmade, limited-edition eyewear made in Japan. But its lifestyle offering at the Chiltern Street boutique will also include jewellery and accessories.
The landlord said that signing the label “reaffirms the appeal of Marylebone for international brands entering the London retail market”.
The street has seen a number of openings in recent periods and has also been welcoming new food and beverage tenants with the Portman Estate saying that’s part of its “ongoing efforts to build a thriving neighbourhood. Creating a balanced retail and leisure portfolio supports the West End as a world class destination that provides unique experiences for residents, visitors and workers”.
Meanwhile, later this month (28 November), from 5pm-8pm, businesses across Chiltern Street and Dorset Street will stay open late to celebrate the Chiltern Street Christmas Shopping Evening.
Brands will be hosting in-store events with exclusive offers. There will also be a roaming gospel choir singing Christmas carols.
