Rixo has been heavily focused on store expansion and collaborations lately but this hasn’t stopped the brand that’s best known for its partywear turning its attention to a new category — homewares.
The company releases its debut homewares collection, ‘Casa Rixo’, next Monday 11, with it saying it will “bring the Rixo aesthetic to the home and is designed to be mix and matched”.
Having attracted a lot of fans for its bold prints and vintage-inspired designs, the company said the homewares offer is “staying true to the brand’s DNA, the collection encapsulates what Rixo does best; vibrant prints and unique style, allowing customers to bring a sense of individuality into the home”.
There will be “small but impactful items” in the compact capsule, like cushions, napkins, and tablecloths that “can effortlessly transform a space”. They’ll retail for £45-£150 and will be available at Liberty London plus Rixo’s own stores and webstore.
The offer has been inspired by the work of artist Henri Matisse, a longstanding influence on the label and “embraces the bold use of colour and artistic expression that the brand is known for”.
The designs feature hand-painted colours and tones meant to “evoke a strong crafted feel, with visible brushstrokes adding a touch of imperfection and uniqueness to each piece”.
The collection offers two distinct palettes: one bright and primary, and the other more neutral with terracotta and cream tones.
Orlagh McCloskey, Rixo co-founder and creative director, said: “From the start, [co-founder] Henrietta [Rix] and I have envisioned expanding into homeware. The antique and vintage fairs we constantly visit have been a constant source of inspiration, shaping the spaces we create in stores. We believe [we] can bring a fresh perspective to homeware, with accessible pieces designed to make an instant impact. Our personal style, seen in our clothing, naturally extends into interiors as well.”
