Good morning, BBN!
The start of basketball season is only a few days away as the Kentucky Wildcats are getting prepared for a matchup with Wright State on Monday. It also sounds like they potentially avoided disaster as well.
On Tuesday night, Amari Williams left in the first half with a leg injury. After not returning for the remainder of the game, the fanbase got quite the scare. However, in the post-game press conference, Mark Pope helped ease the fanbase’s mind.
Now, with the latest reports, things seem to be good.
During Thursday’s press conference, head coach Mark Pope said that Williams is considered day-to-day after getting good results from testing done on the injury.
“Imaging was really good, really positive,” Pope said of Williams. “He’s day-to-day right now. He won’t do anything — just free throws today, and we’re hopeful he’ll be back soon. But we’ll kinda proceed with all the caution and urgency that we possibly can.”
Although the Cats might not have Williams this coming Monday, it sounds like he could return soon.
