Flights on the routes will begin next month
easyJet will launch flights to two new destinations from Manchester Airport next month. Starting in November, the budget airline will operate twice-weekly flights from Terminal One at Manchester to Akureyri in Iceland and Djerba in Tunisia.
The Djerba flights, which will begin on November 11, will operate on Mondays and Fridays, while flights to Akureyri, in the north of Iceland, will run on Tuesdays and Saturdays from November 12. Neither Akureyri or Djerba is currently served by any other UK airport outside of London.
Djerba is an island off the coast of Tunisia and temperatures regularly reach 20C in December. Akureyri is rather different -a small community of fewer than 20,000 people on Iceland’s north coast, it is known for its scenery and the high chance to spot the Northern Lights.

“So whether you want to relax on a beach and soak up the sunshine, or lose yourself in a winter wonderland, these two new routes give you the opportunity to do that whilst exploring a destination that would have previously been very difficult to get to – and all at a bargain price.”
At the time of writing, flights are available from just £45pp return to Djerba and £38pp return to Akureyri, according to Manchester Airport.
