With 113,000 visitors across two days last weekend, Milton Keynes’ centre:mk mall can now lay claim to having hosted “the UK’s largest fashion and beauty indoor event”.
Located within its Middleton Hall, the Fashion Weekend featured 80 brands across 40 of the destination’s retailers, “enabling visitors to see the latest trends across fashion, health, and beauty”.
Now running bi-annually, the free event has been created by centre:mk “to engage and inspire shoppers” by showcasing a wide variety of items across the centre’s leading line-up of retail brands”, it said.
Of course, it’s part of the destination’s “active commitment to driving spend and footfall into stores” while launching the autumn/winter season. And across the weekend, it said the whole centre’s footfall was up 6.1% year-on-year.
Key brands parterned with centre:mk on the Fashion Weekend included Reiss, Mango, John Lewis & Partners, River Island, Dune and Jigsaw, as well as new retailers Mint Velvet and Castore.
The hourly catwalk shows also included style talks from the personal shopper team at John Lewis as well as TV stylist Annaleise Hayes.
Beauty also shared the spotlight with make-up demos from H Beauty, Huda Beauty, Hourglass, Guerlain and Clarins, while Jo Malone also staged a scent masterclass.
Kevin Duffy, centre:mk’s Centre Director, said: “Welcoming over 113,000 active and engaged visitors [while helping] drive spend in store, is an excellent result.
“It demonstrates our approach to active management and retailer engagement, as well as our commitment to delivering varied and enhanced customer experiences.”
