BBC Sport has been awarded audio rights to broadcast England’s much anticipated Test series in Pakistan starting on Monday 7 October.
The three match series will be live on Test Match Special on 5 Sports Extra, BBC Sounds and via the BBC Sport website and app from 6am.
England’s last tour in Pakistan resulted in a historic three nil win for Ben Stokes’s side.
Jonathan Agnew will lead the TMS commentary team alongside Simon Mann and Aatif Nawaz. Expert analysis will be provided by multiple Ashes winning bowler Steven Finn, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja and World Cup winner Alex Hartley, who’s also the spin bowling coach for Pakistan Super League team the Multan Sultans. Andy Zaltzman will take a break from hosting the News Quiz on BBC Radio 4 to be with the TMS team as scorer and statistician, with Stephan Shemilt providing updates on BBC 5 Live as well as writing for the BBC Sport website.
It continues a busy winter of live cricket coverage across the BBC which also includes the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup, the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, the Women’s Ashes, the WBBL and BBL plus the Men’s Test Series between Australia and India.
BBC Head of Cricket Adam Mountford says: “It’s brilliant news that such a fascinating Test series will be available to listen to on the iconic Test Match Special with live text commentary as well on the BBC Sport website and app. It helps make October a real festival of cricket across the BBC with our coverage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup running alongside the commentary from Pakistan. England’s last tour to the country provided some really thrilling cricket and I’ve no doubt we’re in for some more exciting action over the next month.”
