Premiership football team Arsenal has launched a limited-edition collection with fellow-London-based luxury streetwear brand Aries.
It marks Arsenal’s first step into streetwear that it wants to grow, while the partnership with Aries’ is also its first foray into the Premier League.
The fashion-first collaboration “forms part of Arsenal’s growing desire to build on the club’s own-brand products as part of its long-term retail strategy”.
Blending Arsenal’s north London heritage with Aries’ luxe-streetwear aesthetic, the collaboration features classic Aries silhouettes “re-imagined and dedicated to Arsenal supporters around the world”.
The 26-piece collection features staple streetwear styles such as jersey tracksuits, graphic tees, football shirts, and nylon and jacquard denim sets. Typical Aries luxury pieces including a navy wool bomber jacket embroidered with the Arsenal Cannon logo emblazoned as a back print.
Accessories include caps, football scarves and stickers, and exclusive Arsenal x Aries ‘A’ jewellery are also part of the collection.
Bespoke graphics throughout the range include ‘1886’, the club’s founding year, ‘Arsenal’, rewritten in Aries typeface. ‘Ares; Greek god of war and courage’ sits alongside influential figures from Arsenal’s rich history, legendary manager Herbert Chapman and life president Ken Friar, who are immortalised into the threads of the collection.
Hannah Chick, Retail Director at Arsenal said: “This collaboration has been two years in the making, and the results are testament to the long-term vision, strategy and hard work of our team.
“In recent years we’ve worked hard to build on our retail offering for supporters, particularly in relation to our own-brand products. Following multiple launches including retro ranges and a bespoke collection to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of our ‘Invincibles’ team, we’re very proud of our latest drop.”
Sofia Prantera, founder and creative director of Aries, added: “Our collaboration with Arsenal is a natural expression of where we are based in north London, and the people and locations that inextricably and authentically link our two brands and communities.
“The campaign was inspired by the shared experience of supporters and community; one that unites us despite our different creeds, beliefs, backgrounds, traditions, and the almost spiritual role football can play in uniting supporters in a shared emotional experience.”
The Arsenal x Aries limited edition collaboration will be available in Aries’ flagship store in Soho, London, ariesarise.com, Arsenal club stores and Arsenal Direct, Selfridges London and selected global retailers.
