The last eclipse of 2024 is almost here. Astrologers like me say eclipses are a chance to open your eyes to see what’s really going on around you.
Timed to the new moon in Libra, which comes near the start of Libra season, an annular solar eclipse will occur on Oct. 2. The eclipse comes weeks after September’s lunar eclipse.
This marks the first solar eclipse since the Great American Eclipse that captivated millions across the U.S. Unfortunately to those in the continental U.S., this solar eclipse won’t be visible — but astrology believers might be able to feel its effects.
An annular solar eclipse, also known as a “ring of fire” eclipse, will occur on Oct. 2, and be visible in Chile and Argentina. Parts of the Pacific, South America, Atlantic and Antarctica will be treated to a partial eclipse.
The only major city in the U.S. that will be able to see the partial eclipse is Honolulu, Hawaii, according to Time And Date.
We may be feeling extra reactive and emotional the day of the eclipse, even if we won’t be able to see it. That’s because, according to astrology, eclipses are potent moments where energy runs high.
The planet Mercury, who is currently in the air sign Libra, and Mars, who is presently in Cancer, aspect the eclipse point on the south node of destiny, creating intense interpersonal dynamics and communication frustrations.
To counter the energy of the eclipse, we should take a beat before we say anything. Think: Are we speaking to maintain peace, or to rile up unnecessary drama? Take a beat before saying something you might later regret.
The eclipse also offers a chance to consider relationships. We may have to step back from some relationships that are no longer serving us and connect with people more deeply on our wavelengths.
The eclipse good news is that we will be able to see things clearly and hopefully make the best choices as a result, if we take the time to reflect.
Don’t lose yourself in relationships this month, Aries. You might be tempted to take on other people’s opinions and stances. Remember who you are and what makes you you. Hold true to that.
Organize your life during the eclipse. Limit the activities you’re willing to commit to. What do you have to do? What do you want to do? Strike a balance between the two, and make sure you’re not overdoing any one thing.
You might be experiencing creative drive and burnout at the same time. Make a list of all of your artistic ideas and save them for the future. The current objective for you is to relax and rest.
Spend time at home with family and friends during the eclipse. See yourself through the eyes of your loved ones. You’ll feel newly empowered.
Drama, drama, drama. You are going to be well acquainted with drama during the eclipse, Leo (as if you weren’t already). You don’t have to have the last word to make your point. Preserve your dignity and walk away from situations when necessary.
Money comes and money goes, which is why you’re focused on saving. Think about where you can cut back this month. You’re in conversation with your future self.
Don’t act in haste during the time of the eclipse. You don’t have to take action on anything right now. Take the pressure off. It would help if you tried to reflect and contemplate to be strategic rather than impulsive with your goals.
Use the eclipse as a moment to heal past wounds. If you long to connect with yourself deeper, now is a chance. Be kind to yourself instead of nitpicking and criticizing. Start off with a big hug to yourself.
You might feel disconnected from people in your life, or might feel like you have to step away from certain relationships. Think of this distance as temporary. You need to create space so you can figure out how you feel.
Exciting opportunities at work could create issues with your coworkers. Be aware of work dynamics, but don’t let others’ jealousy hold you back from pursuing your passions. Be smart in your next steps so you can move up with ease.
Your mind is evolving, allowing you to understand the world differently. Be voracious with your learning. Read books, watch movies, listen to podcasts. Do whatever it takes to expand your horizons.
You are feeling yourself right now, Pisces. Your intuition and ability to figure out the best solution to problems are heightened. Use this to help yourself and others chart their routes forward.
