LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved “VVIP status” for the England cricket team visiting Pakistan.
The English cricket team will be provided fool-proof security and other facilities on a par with the heads of state.
The prime minister gave “VVIP status” to players and officials of the English cricket team for the two Test matches to be played in Multan and one in Rawalpindi, while the English Cricket Board officials, commentators and production crew visiting Pakistan for match coverage would be given “VIP status”.
The prime minister has also given VVIP status to the players and officials of Pakistan cricket team. The Cabinet Division has issued instructions to the Ministry of Interior in this regard.
