SKYJACK HIJACK (system – 3m+ handicap hurdles, last time out winners, speed angle)
Last time out winners have a cracking record in handicap hurdles over 3m or further, especially when their win was achieved in a fast time (defined as a Proform figure of 67 or higher). Since the beginning of 2012, 135 of the 495 qualifiers (27.3% strike-rate) proved successful for a profit of £133.78 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 104.12, A/E = 1.30). The form of SKYJACK HIJACK ‘s heavy-ground Cartmel win was let down by the runner-up Lady Harriet at Fontwell earlier this week but the Jennie Candlish-trained six-year-old remains open to improvement on only his sixth start and won’t have a problem with the faster going.

Robert Cowell has a solid record with newly gelded runners in 5f handicaps, scoring with nine of the 38 qualifiers since the beginning of 2012 for a profit of £54.29 to a £1 level stake at SP. ZOLA POWER lost his way after making a winning stable debut for Mick Appleby at Wolverhampton in early January but could be revitalised by another change of scenery.
