There’s nothing better tjan a comfy bed, bathrobe and without a doubt, a clean room when checking into a hotel.
Whether you are into the lavish hotels or prefer something a little bit more low-key, new research has found the best hotels in the world.
The esteemed list of the World’s 50 Best Hotels has been released, naming places to stay that go the extra mile for their guests.
This is according to 600 industry experts the likes of travel journalists, hoteliers and luxury travellers to determine the results of the top 50 hotels.
The results are part of an annual awards which look at the most out-of-this-world places to stay.
Researchers look at factors including brilliant service, great design and stunning location. The study found Capella Bangkok as the best hotel in the world in 2024.
Capella Bangkok overlooks the Chao Phraya River in Thailand’s capital. Not only does the hotel have 101 rooms, ranging from suites to villas, with prices starting at around €540 per night.
Despite the hotel being on the expensive side, some of the hotels services include a guided shopping spree or a private meditation session.
Capella Bangkok has an impressive five out of five on TripAdvisor reviews with one traveller writing: “The staff was wonderful, and the service was excellent. Thank you for going above and beyond to make my stay truly special!”
Another said: “Even though there was only one night, it was still a memorable stay. After reuniting with family and friends, we feel relaxed. The best of the best are you guys.”
A third commented: “The staff never fail to greet you and ensure they attend to all my needs. Their attention to details are unparalleled. The room is very spacious and the river view will want you to return for more. I especially enjoy the outdoor seating.”
Scoring silver in the rankings was Passalacqua which is located on Lake Como in Italy. The hotel itself was knocked off the top spot in 2023.
Meanwhile, Rosewood Hong Kong, which came in second place last year was knocked down to third in 2024.
However, you don’t need to travel around the other side of the world to experience indulgence with four hotels in the UK making the top 50.
