British Airways has announced the launch of direct flights from London Heathrow to Tbilisi, Georgia, beginning on 30 March 2025.
The airline will operate four flights per week, offering customers a new gateway to the stunning and historic city, which sits at the crossroads of Europe and Asia.
Tbilisi, Georgia’s charming capital, is set along the banks of the Mtkvari River and surrounded by rolling hills and the breathtaking Caucasus Mountains to the north.
Known for its cobbled streets, a mix of historic and modern architecture, and a vibrant food scene, the city offers visitors a unique blend of European and Asian influences.
Beyond Tbilisi, the country is home to a wealth of UNESCO World Heritage sites, the ancient Kutaisi canyons, and 8000 years of winemaking tradition, as Georgia is often hailed as the birthplace of wine.
Whether you’re strolling through Tbilisi’s old town or exploring its stunning natural landscapes, this hidden gem offers something for everyone.
British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, Neil Chernoff, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Tbilisi back into our route network. We expect this to be a popular destination for leisure travellers and those visiting family and friends.”
Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Mariam Kvrivishvili, added that this will not only boost Georgia’s visibility in the UK but also improve US connectivity, strengthening ties with one of Georgia’s key partners.
Travellers from across the UK can reach Tbilisi with seamless connections available through London Heathrow from eight regional airports, including Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester, and Newcastle.
The flight schedule is also optimised for onward connections to popular US destinations, such as New York.
Return flights start at £275, with British Airways Holidays offering two-night packages from £369pp.
