Resale childrenswear destination Little Luxuries has relaunched following a merger with peer platform Little Fashion House.
Headquartered in London, the peer-to-peer business aims to become the “leading authenticated marketplace for [0-16 years] designer childrenswear, providing a solution to the high circulation rate of kids wardrobes and ensuring well-made items are worn for longer”.
Founded and self-funded by Stephanie Affleck and Lucy Walford, Littlest Luxuries brings together a combined 10 years of childrenswear resale experience, having each run successful luxury kidswear consignment platforms.
Littlest Luxuries brings together both businesses and customer bases, and is a “direct response to the thousands of parents’ requests for a peer-to-peer model that provides authentication and a seamless buying and selling experience, where users will receive payment seven days after their item is sold”.
Ahead of the launch, the duo had over 600 existing customer profiles on a waitlist from their respective businesses who wished to sell on Littlest Luxuries as soon as the marketplace was live. In addition to the peer-to-peer model, a ‘VIP White Glove’ service is available, where Littlest Luxuries take care of collecting, photographing, processing, storing and shipping garments.
According to research, there is more childrenswear in circulation than ever before, yet over 183 million pieces of outgrown children’s clothing goes to landfill waste each year (Hubbub). And Mintel said 91% of parents would prioritise passing on good quality childrenswear to others, and are more inclined than ever to sell used items.
The co-owners said: “The sky’s the limit with Littlest Luxuries. The demand to buy and sell kids clothing in a peer-to-peer capacity is there, and this has only been exemplified by the feedback our customers have given us over the last 12 months. The need for a destination like Littlest Luxuries to exist is clear, and we are here to fulfil the gap in the market.
“We’re passionate about playing a part in reducing childrenswear clothing waste, and connect more parents to buy and sell from one another via a seamless digital experience.”
