A huge fire drifting over the M1 in Greater London has sparked travel chaos during rush hour.
A post on the National Highways reads: “The M1 in Greater London is closed in both directions between J1 (Cricklewood) and J4 (Elstree) due to an off-network building fire.
“The smoke is drifting across both carriageways resulting in poor visibility.
“National Highways Traffic Officers are at the scene and assisting the emergency services with traffic management.”
