A boy has been taken to hospital following reports of a stabbing in a city centre.
Police said officers were called to Portland Street in Manchester at 20:15 BST.
Greater Manchester Police said a boy had been taken to hospital for treatment with his injuries described as “not-life threatening”.
No arrests had been made and enquiries were ongoing, police said. They have not confirmed the boy’s age at this stage.
Buses were diverted following the incident, Stage Coach said.
“Due to a police incident on Portland Street, all services are diverting via Aytoun Street, Auburn Street and starting from Piccadilly Train Station,” the public transport provider said in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Bus stops on London Road will not be served. Sorry if this is affecting your journey with us today.”
