ONYX Hospitality Group, a leading hospitality provider in the Asia-Pacific region, proudly took part in a series of ‘Destination Representation’ events across the UK in July 2024. These events aimed to strengthen and expand travel industry partnerships across various UK regions by showcasing ONYX’s diverse portfolio of properties to a wide audience.
Held in Wetherby and Aylesbury, these industry gatherings featured networking opportunities, presentations, and quizzes with exciting prizes. Organized by Destination Representation, a market leader in UK travel industry event management, the events aimed to connect agents with a wide range of travel suppliers specializing in global holidays, particularly long-haul destinations.
These events provided an ideal platform for ONYX Hospitality Group to establish key relationships within the travel trade and educate agents about its extensive range of hotels and resorts, including the brands Amari, OZO, Shama, and Oriental Residence.
ONYX’s participation focused on equipping agents with comprehensive knowledge about the unique features and offerings of its properties, ensuring they are well-prepared to inspire and facilitate holiday bookings for their clients.
Attending agents, all qualified long-haul travel sellers, represented companies such as Born 2 Travel, Designer Travel, Spa Travel, Arundel Travel, and Travel Counsellors. They had the opportunity to engage directly with Andrea Hogg, Director of Global Sales for the UK & Ireland at ONYX Hospitality Group, and gain in-depth insights into ONYX’s properties.
“The series of ‘Destination Representation’ long-haul events were incredibly successful. I was thrilled to network with key players in the UK travel industry and have the opportunity to make new connections in different regions,” said Andrea Hogg. “It was fantastic to meet with dedicated travel agents who are passionate about promoting long-haul travel. The enthusiasm and interest shown in our properties were truly inspiring. These interactions will undoubtedly help us to enhance our visibility in the UK market and strengthen our relationships with valuable partners. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, and I am excited about the potential collaborations that will emerge from these events.”
The UK market continues to be pivotal for ONYX Hospitality Group, boasting a 47% increase in UK room night sales and a 63% surge in revenue for the first half of the year compared to the previous year. The outlook for the remainder of the year is equally promising. These impressive figures underscore the growing appeal of ONYX Hospitality Group’s properties and their dedication to providing exceptional guest experiences. ONYX Hospitality Group is eager to build on this success through continued collaboration with the UK travel industry.
ONYX Hospitality Group enjoys a strong reputation in the UK market, known for its top-tier, welcoming city hotels and beach resorts that attract families, couples, friends, multi-generational groups, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Popular destinations among UK travelers include Amari Bangkok, Amari Phuket, Amari Koh Samui, Amari Vogue Krabi, Amari Pattaya, OZO Chaweng Samui, OZO Phuket, and OZO North Pattaya.
