Spanish luxury brand Loewe announced on Friday the opening of its first Loewe Casa store in Seoul.
Located in the prestigious Gangnam district, the new Casa Loewe Seoul store spans 433 square metres over three floors, and retails the LVMH-owned brand’s full offering of women’s and men’s ready to wear, accessories, bags, eyewear, shoes, small leather goods, scarves and shawls, home scents, and a series of special, store-specific products.
Outside, the store features a bright green ceramic façade, crafted from ceramic tiles handmade in Spain. Inside, these tiles recur in shades of blue, brown, and green complemented by concrete and the warmth of oak, brass, and marble. Throughout the store, glass brings an abundance of natural light and makes for a flow between the exterior and interior.
The store also boasts a furniture selection including Berin Club chairs upholstered in custom felt; Utrecht and Steltman chairs designed by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, and George Nakashima’s American black walnut and canvas Conoid Cushion chairs, alongside a series of signature Loewe puffer benches showcasing the brand’s eatherwork, with floating black terrazzo tables, burnt wood podiums, and antique ceramic vessels adding dimension.
For flooring, artisanal wool carpets made in Spain reproduce tapestries by British textile
artist John Allen.
While shopping, visitors will also find Loewe’s anthology of international art and craft, including Japanese artist Tanabe Chikuunsai IV’s Source of Creation(2024), alongside two Loewe Foundation Craft Prize winners; Japanese ceramicist Eriko Inazaki’s 2023-winning ceramic sculpture Metanoia (2019) and Korean artist and weaver Dahye Jeong’s 2022-winning horsehair vessels A Time for Sincerity (2021).
Loewe, helmed by creative director Jonathan Anderson, boasts 17 flagship stores across the globe.
