Italy icon Leonardo Bonucci has suggested that Arsenal are sealing a coup by luring Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori to the club this summer.
The Gunners are reportedly on the verge of completing a £42m deal, beating rival interest from Juventus.
And Bonucci admits that he regrets his former club’s failure to sign Calafiori, who shone for Italy at Euro 2024.
“Calafiori? I’m sorry about his transfer. I would have liked to see him at Juventus. He’s a defender who’s a little different to what we’re used to seeing. He plays, has personality and fits in,” Bonucci said.
“We’re exporting a great player who will be a point of reference for the national team for the next 15 years.”
