A UK beach has been hailed as Britain’s answer to the Caribbean, with its striking resemblance to the tropical paradise’s iconic blue waters and golden sands.
Cornwall‘s coastline boasts a hidden treasure at Carbis Bay luxury estate in St Ives, which could easily be mistaken for an exotic locale.
The breathtaking Pedn Vounder beach, part of the estate but open to the public, has taken TikTok by storm after @carbisbayhotelandestate shared a video revealing its beauty.
Nestled on the southern coast of Cornwall’s Penwith Peninsula, Pedn Vounder has become an online sensation, drawing attention from far and wide.
Pedn Vounder is a tidal beach that disappears under the waves at high tide and is only accessible by boat or on foot during low tide, with a challenging climb down steep cliffs.
The secluded nature of the beach has also made it popular among naturists, who frequent it for nude sunbathing.
Signs inform visitors that “naturists may be seen beyond this point”, ensuring everyone is aware of the beach’s laid-back vibe.
The website Explore Cornwall warned beachgoers seeking the idyllic sands of this popular spot to brace for crowds during peak summer and school holidays.
To enjoy a peaceful day by the sea, they advise an early start.
They also highlight that while the beach basks in glorious sunshine at noon, thanks to its south-facing aspect and protective cliffs, it’s prone to shade as the afternoon wanes.
Online reviews are awash with praise from visitors who’ve been captivated by the beach’s charms.
One particularly enchanted visitor gushed on Google Reviews: “Totally mind-blowing. What a fabulous colour of water, totally loved it.”
Another beach enthusiast drew comparisons to exotic shores, exclaiming: “The best and most amazing beach you can find in the UK.
“This place made us think we were in the Caribbean.”
Adding to the chorus of approval, another visitor penned: “Beautiful beach with azure blue water, nice sand, cliffs either side and plenty of space. Water was amazing to swim in.”
