Are pop-up store residencies getting shorter and shorter? After Adidas and JD Sports opened a temporary store in London for just one day, a collaboration between fashion brands Represent and Duke + Dexter opened Friday (July 19) on London’s Air Street showcasing a fusion of heritage craftsmanship with contemporary British Luxury. But be quick, it’s set to close on Sunday (July 21).
But there’s a lot to see as the collection includes 20 pieces, inspired by two quintessentially British Brands aligning on a US Road Trip.
The garments “explore a variety of avenues”, with expressions taken from American workwear and traditional ‘60s craftsmanship techniques, with a focus on distressing and wash “to create depth to each piece”.
Classic Duke + Dexter Penny Loafer silhouettes are showcased, and feature two pairs of a store exclusive in highly limited quantities.
The collection centrepiece is the Multi Patch Carpenter Jacket in Sand, a redefinition of modern outerwear, crafted from 100% cotton.
Duke + Dexter has only recently debuted in ready-to-wear, so the Carpenter Jacket marks the first outerwear piece showcased under its name.
Also, the Mountain Lion pieces are inspired “by the resourcefulness of ‘60s mothers creating clothing from flour bags”, with a revere shirt, short and T-shirt, all featuring a vanilla ice base.
Resort Pants also feature a tonal panel to the outside of each leg, detailed with blanket stitching. A hybrid waistband and relaxed fit boost comport. The pants are finished with a tonal matte thread co-branded logo under the back welt pocket.
The main body of the collection includes: The British Luxury Hoodie in Rust and Stained Black; T-Shirts such as the Rearview Mirror Tee in Ecru and Stained Black, Mountain Lion T-Shirt in Ecru, and British Luxury T-Shirt in Rust and Stained Black; Denim, with Represent’s classic R3 Baggy Denim silhouette; the Logo Lock-Up Vest in Ecru and Black; and accessories like the British Luxury Cap and Bandana.
