4-star 2026 SG Adam Oumiddoch ‘interested’ in Kentucky as recruitment heats up

Adam Oumiddoch has heard from dozens of programs since the contact period began in June. Among the schools reaching out? The Kentucky Wildcats.

Considered a four-star recruit from the class of 2026, Oumiddoch is ranked No. 23 overall by the On3 Industry Ranking. Suiting up for Team Loaded 16U (VA) during the adidas 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship last week, the 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard had plenty of coaches watching him closely from the sidelines.

“Coaches obviously just started to be able to reach out, so most of the coaches that have been reaching out are (from) Oklahoma State, LSU, Iowa, Providence is heavy, I’m close with Alabama,” Oumiddoch told KSR over the weekend. “I know Illinois, South Carolina, Villanova, there’s a lot of them in mind but they’ve reached out. Talk to Kentucky as well. So it’s just starting for me now.”

Kentucky assistant coach Cody Fueger, who has been in contact with Oumiddoch since June, was one of the many coaches watching him in action in Rock Hill, SC over the weekend.

“He texted me the first day (of the adidas 3SSB Championship) and he said I’m a big fan of yours, so I really appreciated that,” Oumiddoch said of Fueger. “And I saw my man Acaden Lewis, he went there (for a visit), and I grew up training with him. I texted (Fueger) and said ya’ll got my friend up there, he was like yeah he’s a great kid. He’s a great basketball player too.”

Oumiddoch says he’s close friends with Lewis, who is a major Kentucky target in the 2025 class, and his family. Lewis, a 6-foot-3 point guard, is the No. 40 overall rising high school senior in the country. He’s received an offer from UK, came to Lexington for an unofficial visit last month, and has plans to return for an official visit this fall.

“They know basketball, they know what they’re doing,” Oumiddoch said of the new staff at Kentucky. “It’s been great being recruited by them. I’m interested in there as well.“

I was able to speak with Oumiddoch after one of his games on Saturday, a day after East Carolina reached out with an offer. Since then, he’s added scholarships from Michigan, Rutgers, and Ole Miss. Illinois, LSU, Oklahoma State, and Iowa have also offered him since the end of May.

The Virginia native will spend his junior year playing with Overtime Elite, his second straight season with the Atlanta-based prep league.

“I’m a guard that is able to do everything,” he said. “I’m able to rebound, defend, score at a high level, and pass at a high level as well. It really just depends on what my coach wants me to do and my role on the team.”

As for areas he’s looking to improve upon, Oumiddoch says he’s working on his athleticism and strength, adding that he’s been in the weight room every day and has already added 10-15 pounds of muscle this offseason.
