Next week, The Basketball Tournament makes its annual summer return where 64 teams will compete for the $1 million, winner-takes-all grand prize in a single-elimination tournament. And for the first time ever, a team made up of former Kentucky Wildcats will take the floor.
On Friday, July 19 at 8:00 p.m. EST, La Familia, led by head coach Tyler Ulis, will go up against the 305 Ballers in the first round of the Lexington Regional at Rupp Arena. Headlined by former ‘Cats such as Andrew and Aaron Harrison, Willie Cauley-Stein, James Young, and many more, this is a must-watch event for the Big Blue Nation.
To help you get ready for La Familia’s hopeful run to the championship in Philadelphia, Jack Pilgrim and I broke down everything you need to know about what’s ahead. We talk about the roster, how the famous Elam Ending works, and La Familia’s path to making it out of the Lexington Regional (which includes a possible matchup against Louisville’s alumni squad in the quarterfinals).
Tickets are still on sale at thetournament.com/tbt/tickets and all games will be broadcast on FS1.
