LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) – UK men’s basketball is continuing to ramp up practices before the start of the season and two veteran transfers, who joined the team in the offseason, talked to the media on Thursday, July 11.
Otega Oweh, who was Mark Pope’s fifth addition to his inaugural roster at Kentucky, was one of them.
The former Oklahoma Sooner shot 37% from three-point land and was the team’s second-leading scorer this past season.
Now, Oweh is raving about his new squad at Kentucky that is filled with veteran talent who know how to set the tone for the season.
“We know what it takes to win and how serious you have to approach it every day in practice,” Oweh said. “So, I feel like in that sense it’s been really good because all the practices have been high intensity and high level. We all kind of have a good sense of what we need to do, so definitely a mature group.”
Tune in to WYMT Mountain Sports at 6 Thursday evening for a full recap of Oweh’s discussion.
Wake Forest transfer Andrew Carr also talked in the news conference on Thursday.
You can hear from Carr on WYMT Mountain Sports at 11.
