Jacob Fearnley will face the biggest test of his career when he goes up against Novak Djokovic on Centre Court.

The 22-year-old, who only graduated from university in May, booked his place in the second round with a convincing win over Alejandro Moro Canas.

He is making his Wimbledon debut this year but has previously beaten the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

Those victories came during his teenage years before honing his skills at university in America, as opposed to going down the usual route to becoming a professional.

“I played Alcaraz when he was maybe 14, I was 17,” said Fearnley.

“Sinner, yeah, I played him maybe when we were 15. Obviously the strides they’ve taken in their games has been a lot more than myself.

“Yeah, the way they’re playing, it’s unbelievable. I don’t think I can really take anything from those victories.”
