Dubai is home to an array of luxurious hotels which make up its glistening skyline, but one of them towers way above the rest. Currently, Gevora Hotel is the tallest hotel in the world, just under 1,170 feet which is 85 feet taller than the Eiffel Tower. That height has given the skyscraper the title of tallest hotel building according to Guinness World Records.
The four-star hotel opened in February 2018 after a construction period of twelve years. Work began to construct the hotel in 2005 by developer Al Attar Properties. During the construction phase, the building was known as Ahmed Abdul Rahim Al Attar Tower.
The hotel beat the previous record holder, the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, which is located around two miles away, by about three feet (roughly one metre).
The third tallest hotel, the 1,093 ft tall Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, is also located nearby.
The hotel has 529 rooms towering high up into the air, along with a full-size swimming pool and a panoramic restaurant with incredible views.
Highest View Restaurant, located on the rooftop of the hotel, has a minimum spend of 100 aed per person. Gevora Kitchen is a more casual dining option, offering all-day dining and local delicacies from breakfast to dinner.
The pool deck, which also offers unique vistas across the city, features a Pool Bar just steps from the water.
However, though the hotel currently stands tallest, it is set to lose its title to a neighbouring hotel due to open later this year. Hotel Ciel, in the Ciel Tower located in Dubai Marina, will stand at 1197 feet tall (365m). The hotel is under construction by Immo Prestige Limited and is estimated to cost £388m to complete.
Hotel Ciel will span 104 storeys and be home to over 1,000 rooms across 82 floors. The hotel was predicted to open in the first quarter of 2024.
