Gap announced on Monday the appointment of Sven Gerjets as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
Gerjets brings a wealth of experience and a reputation for leading technological and cultural transformations across various industries. Most recently, he was chief technology officer at Mattel Inc. His career also includes senior roles at major companies like AT&T, DIRECTV, and Time Warner, where he successfully transitioned legacy platforms into cutting-edge digital environments.
Gerjets has a proven track record of modernizing technology systems to enhance direct-to-consumer operations, including front-end order management, warehouse management, and point-of-sale solutions.
He will report directly to Gap CEO Richard Dickson, who emphasized the crucial role technology will play in driving the company’s brand reinvigoration and customer connection.
“The adoption of the right technologies can help us push the boundaries of operational efficiency, product creation and customer engagement,” Dickson said in a message to Gap employees.
“We have just started the journey with data science, and I am confident that Sven’s expertise and leadership will put us on the right path to success.”
