Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling has teamed up with NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo to launch a series of limited-edition watches.
The Chronomat Giannis Antetokounmpo collection mirrors the dynamic presence of the 6’11” Milwaukee Bucks power forward with bold and impactful designs. The collection offers two variations: a 40-mm steel Chronomat GMT and a 42-mm gold Chronomat B01 chronograph.
From the “GA” initials emblazoned on the central hand to the basketball emblem subtly integrated into the chronograph counter and the green dial color paying homage to the Milwaukee Bucks, every detail of these watches resonates with Giannis’s influence. Other noteworthy details include Antetokounmpo’s signature on the GMT caseback, while the chrono provides a view of the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 movement and its golden rotor.
Each piece comes encased in special-edition packaging, accompanied by a personal note from Giannis, affectionately known as the ‘Greek Freak’. The collection is limited to just 1750 pieces for the GMT and 250 for the chronograph.
“Giannis has an incredible personal style and sense of self that we knew we had to capture in a timepiece,” said Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling. “And so, our longstanding ambassador became a collaborator who not only brought his aesthetic to the project, but also his indominable spirit.”
Breitling has also crafted an exclusive “One of One” Chronomat B01 for Antetokounmpo himself. This unique piece features golden Arabic numerals, a white inner bezel, and contrasting white chronograph counters set against a rich green dial.
“There’s a video of the moment I first unboxed the chronograph,” said Antetokounmpo. “My face says it all; I was blown away to see it come to life. I’m grateful to Breitling for the chance to co-design these watches and grateful to everyone who takes one home. My heart went into them.”
