Max Schmidt, Chief Adventurer at CamperDays, noted that taking a road trip offers tourists a chance to see the UK countryside for a very reasonable price.

“This summer, the number of Brits opting for road trips at home is up 67 percent on last year [2023], the reason for which is, in my view, twofold – the exceptional beauty of the British countryside and the growing demand for low-cost summer holidays.”
According to CamperDays, one of the UK’s nicest destinations to take a road trip in is the Eryri National Park in Snowdonia.
Being the largest national park in Wales, the area is best known for its many mountains, including the iconic Mount Snowdon. However, Eryri also features plenty of woodlands and waterfalls.
One of the most popular road trips in the area is the Eryri Snowdonia 360, which takes tourists around the northwest of Wales, taking in plenty of small coastal villages.
Another popular choice for a road trip in the UK is through the Peak District National Park, which is incredibly easy to access from the Midlands and North West.
Located in Derbyshire, the Peak District is home to over 50 different campsites, meaning tourists will easily be able to find places to stay and do entertaining activities.
The company recommended that tourists planning to visit the Peak District National Park by car should consider taking on Snake Pass, which offers incredible views of the Manchester area.
Finally, CamperDays suggested that tourists looking to go on a road trip up in Scotland should head to the Cairngorms National Park.
At 1,748 square miles, Cairngorms is the largest national park in the UK and is best known for having particularly dark night skies, making it an ideal spot to go stargazing.
