The NBA Finals get underway tonight, with Game 1 in Boston as the Celtics take on the Mavericks for the NBA championship.
This should be a fun series to watch for basketball fans, with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving leading the Mavericks against Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the Celtics.
While the stars from each team will be in the spotlight, and understandably so, former Kentucky Wildcats star PJ Washington has been a key contributor for the Dallas Mavericks, particularly in the postseason.
Washington is the third-leading scorer for the Mavs in the postseason, averaging more than 13 points per game to go along with nearly 7 rebounds while playing 36.5 minutes per game.
Since acquiring PJ this season, the Mavericks are 33-14.
While Luka and Kyrie will be the focal point of the Dallas offense, and the Celtics will be focused on trying to contain them, PJ figures to be the X-factor for this Mavericks team.
Pretty cool.
