The 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmo this weekend, with Sweden being the reigning champions following last year’s win in Liverpool with the song “Tatoo” by Loreen.
The action starts later tonight with the first semi final taking place, while the second won’t take place until Thursday, all gearing up to Saturday night’s final, which a handful of members, including the UK, have qualified directly for.
All British eyes will be fixed on 33-year-old singer Olly Alexander, the former Years & Years lead vocalist, who will be competing with the song he co-wrote, “Dizzy” which was released to the public at the start of March.
Alexander will be bidding to become the first British champion of Eurovision since Katrina and the Waves won with “Love Shine a Light” in 1997, 27 years ago now.
