Good morning, BBN!
It was a very good Tuesday for Bluegrass-native athletes. Former 4-star Owensboro native QB Gavin Wimsatt committed to the Kentucky Wildcats, followed by the news that 3-star Harlan County native SF Trent Noah was released from his Letter of Intent from South Carolina.
Gavin Wimsatt has played his past three seasons at Rutgers, where he completed 212/455 passes (46.6%) for 2,537 yards and 14 touchdowns vs. 17 interceptions. He has also ran for 180 career carries for 628 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Wimsatt will be a great addition to the roster, bringing some strong experience and great talent, and should compete really well for the backup role.
On the basketball side, BBN got very excited about Trent Noah being released from his LOI and now on the market.
He lit up Rupp Arena just a few weeks ago in the State Quarterfinal for 48 points before ultimately losing to current Kentucky commit Travis Perry in the Championship.
It looks like Louisville, Kentucky, and Tennessee are the favorites right now, but it’d be surprising not to see Noah in the blue and white.
Kentucky Athletes, keep grinding!
Bring him home!
