BRITISH Airways is launching a new route between the UK and a holiday hotspot in Europe.
The UK flag carrier will start operating flights from London Stansted to Split in Croatia.
At the end of last year, British Airways announced that it would be returning to London Stansted for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Back in December, the flag carrier confirmed that it would be operating new routes from London Stansted to Florence, Ibiza, and Nice.
According to TTG Media, British Airways is set to operate between London Stansted and Split.
Weekly flights will operate between London Stansted and Split every Saturday.
Flights from London Stansted will depart from 12.55pm, before arriving in Split at 4.20pm local time.
Return flights will leave Split at 5.05pm, arriving back in London Stansted at 6.45pm.
The new route will complement the airline’s existing service from London Heathrow to Split, which is already in operation.
Tickets can be booked from today, with flights then taking to the skies on September 7, 2024.
Sun Online Travel have found one-way tickets from £118 per person.
The new flights will be operated by BA Cityflyer – a subsidiary of British Airways.
At present, BA Cityflyer already flies from London City Airport to nearly 30 short-haul destinations.

British Airways will become the only short-haul carrier from London Stansted to offer a business-class product.
Each of the planes will have a business class cabin (Club Europe) and an economy class (Euro Traveller).
In the business class cabin, passengers will be served a full meal with drinks from the bar.
Business class passengers will also get priority boarding, as well as additional baggage allowance, included in the price of their ticket.
As the second largest city in Croatia, there are plenty of things to do in Split.
One of the city’s most well-known attractions is the Diocletian’s Palace – an ancient palace built for the Roman emperor Diocletian.
Despite its name, it’s not quite a palace, instead, it’s a maze of streets packed with bars, shops and restaurants.
Holidaymakers should aim to visit the Peristyle – the palace’s main open space, which is surrounded by six columns dating back the the 3rd century.
Other attractions include the Cathedral of St Domnius, which was a former mausoleum for Emperor Diocletian.
The mausoleum was attacked in the 7th century and transformed into a cathedral where the bones of the Bishop Domnius were placed.
Split is also home to several beaches, including Bačvice Beach – a sandy beach that’s very close to the city.
There’s also Ovčice Beach, which is a pebble beach that’s considered to be much quieter than neighbouring Bačvice Beach

The airline is launching a small programme of flights to destinations across Europe, including Hanover, Dusseldorf, Bordeaux and Birmingham.
Daily flights will operate between Birmingham Airport and Munich Airport from June 26, 2024.
Meanwhile, a regional airline announced that it will be launching a brand-new route from a tiny UK airport.
From the end of June, Southampton Airport will get direct flights to Caean thanks to regional airline Chalair Aviation.
