A flight attendant working for a private jet company unveiled some of the weirdest requests she’s had from millionaire clients.
The crew member, who wished to remain anonymous, explained: “Once I went on a trip to America with one of my clients and his girlfriend.
“Then we came to Europe and he brought another girlfriend on board, and I had to act all normal! It was my first time flying with him, a super rich guy. It was such an awkward situation.
“Nobody told me anything about the girlfriend so thank God my captain informed me as soon as they came on board.”
Talking about other bizarre situations with “super rich” passengers, she said: “I had clients going to a funeral and asking me for champagne on the way there.
“I obviously didn’t have any with me thinking they would not drink something like that going to a funeral.”
Although she never had a bad experience on board, the flight attendant admitted she has had clients with “a really bad behaviour”.
Luckily, she gets “lots of tips”, which is one of the best parts of the job. She said: “My highest tip was 1,500 euros (£1,250) on a trip which lasted five days.”
Most passengers are “absolutely lovely,” she said, and they just want to have a good time. “They play music on board, they drink champagne, dance… They are just happy people, it’s just fantastic.”
The travel blog Simpleflying explained that one of the downsides of working on a private jet is dealing with the guests as VIP passengers can be “very demanding and they tend to want everything immediately”.
They commented: “It is not unusual to feel drained after a flight, not only because you are on your feet the whole time, but because you’re constantly serving food and drinks as well as juggling safety, plating five-star meals, getting coffee for the flight crew and preparing for the next flight.”
Private flight attendants “may also have to deal with children running around onboard or pets, and may have to source special items on the ground for their VIP’s next flight,” so they only stop “for take-off and landing”.
