Stoke City and Plymouth Argyle have been charged by the Football Association after four yellow cards were handed out in an altercation between players during the Potters’ 3-0 Championship win on Saturday.
Two players from each side were booked in the 35th minute with the game still goalless.
The incident was sparked by a coming-together between Stoke’s Million Manhoef and Argyle goalkeeper Michael Cooper, after which it is alleged that “both clubs failed to ensure their players don’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way”.
Stoke’s Ki-Jana Hoever and Tyrese Campbell were shown yellow cards, as were Plymouth’s Cooper and Bali Mumba.
The FA said both clubs have until Friday to respond to the charges.
Hoever, Manhoef and Wouter Burger scored for Stoke to secure all three points for Steven Schumacher’s side against his former club.
