The Kentucky Wildcats lost most of their 2024 recruiting class when John Calipari took his talents to Arkansas.

While Calipari and Kentucky needed a fresh start, the number of players and recruits that are now heading elsewhere seemed unprecedented.

Regardless, Mark Pope is going to have to build out his roster, and it likely won’t be without many of Calipari’s former commits.

That said, those players will have to play elsewhere next season, and there are a plethora of top talents that are visiting elsewhere.

First up is 5-star forward Karter Knox, who visited Arkansas Monday and has now committed to the Hogs, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

Kevin Knox, his brother, played and thrived at Kentucky, although he struggled in the NBA. Karter originally committed to Calipari’s Wildcats and backed out when he departed.

Kenny Payne was a big reason why Kevin landed at Kentucky, and that connection had Louisville firmly in the mix when Payne was the Cardinals head coach. Now that Payne is an assistant at Arkansas, it was inevitable that Karter would be a Razorback.

Calipari also wants Boogie Fland, another top recruit and one of the best guards in the Class of 2024. Fland still seems undecided, per Adam Zagoria, and he seems like he’s having internal discussions about where to take his talents.

Asked if he planned to take a visit to Arkansas, Fland said, “I’m not sure yet. I gotta talk to my people and see.”

As for another name, there is a new update on former commit Somto Cyril, who just took a visit with the Georgia Bulldogs, so he too is no lock to follow Calipari to Arkansas.

Cyril is from Overtime Elite and is a 4-star forward who committed to coach Cal and his staff and eventually opted to recommit.

Calipari took many names to the transfer portal and will likely get many to Arkansas, but Pope has some transfers coming to Kentucky and should be able to put together a quality roster for BBN.

That said, only time will tell, but there’s still a solid chance Kentucky’s team can compete at the highest level next season.
